The “Pink Facebook” Scam

By safeonlineCLBC on May 17, 2012

One of our Facebook friends just posted this on his wall. What do you think: is it real or a scam?

If you said scam, you’re right!

When you add a Facebook Application to your account, you give the person who made the application access to your personal information. Sometimes you may even give them access to your friends’ personal information too. By giving others access to your information you put yourself at risk.

With this in mind, always be careful about which apps you add to your Page. You can check your Privacy Settings to see all the apps you have on your Page. It’s best to remove the ones that you’re not using.

If you think this post is important, please email, post or tweet it to your friends and family. Let’s help each other stay safe! For more, visit us on Facebook at facebook.com/safeonlineCLBC
